Singing the Song of Stars

Alone I wander;

Lost amongst the nothingness,

Where distant suns spark

As they drift the voided heavens.

The thing I lost

Is hidden from sight and sound;

A distant echoing memory,

Fading even as I grasp it’s edges.

Caged within such vastness

Panic sets in,

Consuming all reason indescriminately.

A wolf among men.

Spiralling further away

Into a place no one sees,

I spy my star,

Shrouded from view of all.

Plaintively calling to yonder,

I sing the song of stars.

But amongst the darkening void,

The song is lost.
